It seems every year, the gut piles of Michaux share some very unpleasant surprises. Last year it was a bag full of ducks dropped off at the entrance of Rattle Dick. This year, a coyote shot in the stomach and dropped off at the entrance to the AT on Menzter Gap Road. I've seen them playing in the woods before, but I have never viewed one this close. I don't really know much about them. There is a good paper written about the coyotes of Pennsylvania here.
