Very Proud

She's not the youngest girl to circumnavigate the world in a single engine plane or anything...but she kicked out her first adventure on a bike. She planned well and listened to advice for a change...ice in the Camelback; Nutter Butters for a snack. She figured out some issues....doesn't like the Camelback dripping on her leg; loop it upward overhead to stop. She got a feel for a butt in the saddle for a longer period of time....."Dad....my butt hurts."
Her helmet sits straight on her head?...We'll have to work on that one.
Someday in Michaux....Someday in Michaux!

Nutter Butters to the Rescue

Kind of a funny ride....everybody reaching a point of delirium at some time or another....interesting data if you click on the details....anytime there was a straight drop off in any of the graphs....well...they represent Buck's flats....Actually there were a lot more breakages and adjustments than that. The break point came at Old Forge...the second time around. Dustonium wasn't feelin' the love and had turned towards the Teaberry lot to get back to the playhouse, Reub and Rich chose that path as well, via Southern Gas and beginner trails. The rest of us chose the original plan of Virginia, Mackey, SP, and back over Snowy mountain, retracing steps.....Once again....The break point...at Old Forge...the second time around....out of food...Buck and Tomi foraging for wine berries...everybody is running on vapors at this point....I gotta have something...reach deep down in my sack...sometimes you win, sometimes you lose....I win...two packs of Nutter Butters hidden under my tubes...spread amongst the final five...fuel to get us home and back to beers.
MBM'ers were lucky we didn't stumble into 'em at the bottom of Old Forge....otherwise they were gonna' get the most pathetic display of public begging and mooching ever to take place in Southy....how many cupcakes can you fit in Scott Hughey's Van?...In this case...it would have been 5!
Cheers

Mackey is Clear...

...for the most part. Still one bad but brief section....the last hard move on the trail. It needs some tracks from some bold individuals. Overall the trail should be quite a bit easier....yes easier. Although for the most part, it follows the original line, there is no more drifting down off the ridge. The one exception to "easier" is Larry's Line...you know the one...remember that one?...The one that showed our Michauxslovakian love for online fighting? Back to the point, the moves on Larry's line have never been that hard, just sequential. Well, there are no fewer than five new moves added on to that sequence...my favorite challenge in the woods.
....Speaking of Lars, he sent me this great news after weed-whacking trail all day...a couple miles worth.
...probably within the fences out there but who knows....Mackey will always be hidden out there.
And by the way....I put this segment onto Strava the right way....stopping right before Mackey Run...so you can sit and have a pre-stashed cold one before moving on....funny it is.
....going to go see how it's riding this mornin'.

A Failed Attempt at the 40.

Too much stuff down....too much work that needs done to make things ride-able. Still a good hard ride and a good cool down in Antietam Creek.

Top Secret Blueberry Stash

....pretty sure...hidden at a beautiful overlook directly between two good trails....one currently getting trimmed up. It'll be a nice reward for walking out from a huge amount of maintenance for a trail that only I ride. Only a third of the way done so far and already would shave minutes off of a Strava time....can't wait to post it.
Hopefully the birds don't get them blueberries before I do.
