The lightness of h20 saturated air compared to N2 and O2, the ability of air to absorb the moisture off the water, the temperature differences between the ocean and land that help drive the pressure systems, and the classic structure of a Nor'easter, pulling the water vapor right off the ocean from a north easterly direction. Its a nice little sequence that might go down in the record books. What month was the blizzard of '96?

And there it is, the textbook Nor'easter.

big one in '96 was March I believe.

02 was a pretty good one as well. I wasn't around for the 93 or 96 storms. I heard they were big though.
'96 took out the Walnut Street Bridge in Harrisburg with the flooding and ice jams that happened after it.
96,...snowed in at Seven Springs, 4runner starter froze just before the trip so we were driving through the storm in a tempo. Spent the last of my money on a room because they shut down 81.
'96 again...Donna rode her snowmobile from Carlisle to the capitol steps in Harrisburg...across the South Bridge...gotta love states of emergency!
